Did you know that Ukrainians have lived here since the 16th century, that Donbas is the homeland of the sixties, Soviet dissidents, and creators of UNSO – Ukrainian People’s Self-Defense? We will introduce you to a constellation of our contemporary poets of Donbas, poet Serhiy Zhadan, the most popular Ukrainian writer abroad, charming Lyubov Yakimchuk, who was invited to perform in front of thousands at the official Grammy Awards ceremony, where she read the poem “Prayer” from her collection “Apricots of Donbas.”
