Ukraine boasts several UNESCO World Heritage sites. Some of the most notable include the ancient city of Tauric Chersonese and its chora, the Saint-Sophia Cathedral and Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, the historic centers of Lviv, Odesa. The Struve Geodetic Arc, with points in Ukraine, is also a significant site. Additionally, the Residence of Bukovinian and Dalmatian Metropolitans and the Wooden Churches of the Carpathian Region are also part of the UNESCO list.
Inclusion of a site on the UNESCO World Heritage List is important because it guarantees international attention and protection, as well as promotes tourism and economic growth for the region where the site is located.”
