The program is offered to older adults 55+ and is offered in-person or online via zoom. Funding for this program provided by the Seniors Community Grant from the Province of Ontario. Workshop is held in person at St. Demetrius Apartment 123 La Rose Avenue and virtually via zoom.
Through meditation and mindful breathing, yoga encourages you to focus on the present and find a sense of peace. Research has shown that with regular practice, we expect to lower stress and ease symptoms of anxiety and depression. This class will be led by Denise Ho: After taking classes for more than 20 years, Denise began a daily practice when she participated in an Energy Exchange program. In the last 6 years, she has become truly dedicated to her practice after trying a Mysore class for the first time. She completed her 200-hour Yoga Alliance teacher training at the YogaSpace in 2013. Denise also holds Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Adaptive Yoga for Limited Mobility and Reiki Certifications.
