Free Income Tax Clinic Polycultural Immigrant & Community Services

We are pleased to announce the launch of our Free Tax Clinic, which will begin on Wednesday, March 12th, running from 10 AM to 5 PM. Appointments will be available in 1-hour slots per client or family, with the final appointment starting at 4 PM. The clinic will also be open on Thursday, March 13th, and Friday, March 14th, during the same hours. After this, we will offer appointments every Friday from 2 PM to 5 PM, with the last appointment at 4 PM. To book your appointment, please contact us at ggubikova@polycultural.org and specify the following details: – What is your preferred time slot (day, hour) – Whether your appointment is for an individual or family – If you require assistance in Ukrainian, Spanish, or are comfortable with English Please note that you must meet the eligibility criteria to qualify for the free income tax service – check the Eligibility criteria here: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/community-volunteer-income-tax-program/lend-a-hand-individuals/about.html. Additionally, ensure that you have all the necessary and up-to-date documents to provide to our CRA-registered volunteers, including: – Immigration documents (showing the same full name recognized by the CRA) for all family members – SIN numbers for all family members – A VOID cheque or direct deposit form if you do not have an account on the CRA My Account webpage yet – Income (please find out more here: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/tax-return/completing-a-tax-return/personal-income/reporting-income.html) – Expenses such as: Childcare expenses, Medical expenses, Rent or property tax information, Donations, Student loans, etc. (For more details, please refer to this link: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/tax-return/completing-a-tax-return/deductions-credits-expenses/deductions-credits-expenses.html) Important Notes: We cannot accept handwritten documents; only official forms recognized by the CRA will be accepted. Our volunteers are unable to assist with tax returns for individuals who own rental properties or small businesses. The clinic serves those with modest incomes (less than $35,000 per individual or $45,000-$52,500 per family) and simple tax situations.
