About the Event Your support makes our mission possible. Each year, we need to raise $850,000 from the community to cover the gap in our funding for things such as food, electricity, and other items that make our Hospice feel like a home. Thanks to our sponsors, donors and participants, we raised $21,000 at last year’s event. This year we aim to raise $30,000 to ensure that families continue to be able to access essential palliative care programs during one of life’s most difficult times. Events like #Handbags4Hospice allow Margaret Bahen Hospice and Doane House Hospice to provide programs and services at no cost to families in York Region at the time they are needed most.
