Unlock the art of henna. Join us for an educational, hands-on journey into the cultural tradition of this beautiful craft, where you will create your own unique designs. Led by artist Ankita Sherkhane, you’ll first learn about the history of henna through a short introductory lecture, then dive into the world of henna! Create your own unique henna design, then using individual henna cones, and apply your design to your own skin or to a partner’s. All materials included in the cost of the workshop. Get ready to be creative, and you get to enjoy your temporary henna tattoo (or mehndi) for weeks to come.
Open to all experience levels, ages 16+. All materials included in the cost of the workshop.
Please note: Be aware this workshop involves applying henna to skin. Henna may contain allergens, allergic reactions, or cause skin irritations. Please use your own discretion if you choose to participate.
About the Artist: Ankita Sherkhane’s henna journey began at the age of 10 and has grown into a lifelong passion. She enjoys using henna to bring people together, celebrate special moments, and share cultural traditions. From farmers’ markets and community events to teaching workshops, she creates designs that spark joy and connection. Ankita is also committed to giving back, donating proceeds from her henna work to support the Food Bank and Federated Health initiatives. Henna is more than art; it’s a way to build community and make a positive impact.
