Jean Augustine Centre’s Annual Black History Month Celebration

On Saturday, February 3, the Jean Augustine Centre for Young Women’s Empowerment, in partnership with CIBC, cordially invites you to celebrate Black History Month with us at Assembly Hall from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.

This year, our celebration will spotlight the experiences of Black Canadians through arts and storytelling, including a dramatic performance by JAC participants.

By attending, you’ll also get to enjoy great food and music, and the chance to bid on exciting items during our silent auction! All are welcome.

Who We Are:
Located in Etobicoke-Lakeshore, Ontario, Canada, the Jean Augustine Centre for Young Women’s Empowerment is a registered charity offering in-person and online programming to girls and young women both locally and across Canada. Established in June 2014 by the Hon. Dr. Jean Augustine, the first Black Canadian woman to serve in Parliament, the Jean Augustine Centre is committed to building the self-esteem and self-worth of girls and young women by positively influencing their outlook on life, broadening their horizons, and helping them to empower themselves.
