Live Lion Dance and Photobooth at Bloor Islington Place

Come join us on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023 to watch a live lion dance in the Food Court of Bloor Islington Place at 12:30pm sharp! After the dance, get a free 2023 commemorative photobooth picture printout souvenir to take home and usher in the new year.

The lion dance is a lively and entertaining event that lasts about fifteen minutes. The lions in Chinese culture represent superiority, courage and help in casting away bad luck, ghosts, evil spirits and monsters. At the same time bring good luck and prosperity.

The eating and spreading of the lettuce represents the lion giving everyone prosperity and wealth. As the Chinese pronunciation of lettuce sounds like to “create wealth” or “to get rich”. So the lion creates wealth or riches and spreads to everyone or the businesses it’s blessing.
