THE MIGHTY HUMBER
Our guest speaker in January is Richard Jordan, former President of the Etobicoke Historical Society, and a former Toronto Star local history columnist who will talk about the history of “The Mighty Humber”. We will visit four mills, Toronto’s first shipyard The Dennis, a Seneca village, and some colourful taverns, among other sites, and learn about the impact of Hurricane Hazel in 1954.
The Kingsway Women’s Club is a social club located in the west end which provides opportunities to develop lifelong friendships, learn something new from a variety of speakers at our meetings, listen to local musicians, join the various clubs we offer, and visit local restaurants and cultural attractions.
