Uncover the Magic of Ukraine: Seminar Series with Journalist Iryna Yevstafieva
Maria Prymachenko was a great artist, a star of naive art, often called “pure” because it comes from the heart.
Her works amazed and inspired the European art world. The renowned Pablo Picasso once said that he was in a state of depression, but after seeing her creations, he overcame his condition and returned to work.
Maria Prymachenko was a master of a genre she invented herself. Her zoomorphic motifs represent our ancient poetics, a personal universe populated by unique creatures brought to life with her distinct flora and fauna.
