DESCRIPTION:Yorkdale Shopping Centre is unveiling a captivating month-long installation\, dedicated to honouring the illustrious career of George Pimentel\, one of the industry’s most esteemed photographers that has captured iconic style moments over the last 30 years.  \nFor 30 years George Pimentel has been shooting the who’s who of Hollywood. Both George and his camera have photographed every major red carpet from the Oscars\, Toronto International Film Festival\, Cannes\, to the Met Gala. The exceptional installations\, titled “30 Years of Red Carpet Style\,” will showcase a curated collection of George Pimentel’s iconic red carpet photography\, capturing the essence of glamour and allure exuded by the stars over the past three decades. \nThe installation will be open to the public from September 5th – 30th\, 2023 during Yorkdale Shopping Centre’s location hours (Mon-Sat: 10:00am – 9:00pm\, Sun: 11:00am – 7:00pm).

SUMMARY:Fall Studio Series - Relief Printing Collage
DESCRIPTION:Relief Print Collage is a 4 week course facilitated by artist Maureen Da Silva where students will learn and refine carving techniques in relief printmaking\, and work to create up to two types of collages\, inspired by still-life objects. Students will consider two approaches to collage composition\, using blocks developed in the first session. They will use professional grade ink for printing\, and spend time working on both modular and organic designs. Paper as a material will also be closely explored for the impact it has on the artmaking process\, with an emphasis on joyful composition.
