SUMMARY:Free Youth Dance & Safety Series
DESCRIPTION:Our Youth Dance and Safety event gets youth who live in under-resourced areas with high gun violence rates to move more and feel safe as they walk around their neighborhoods and take the TTC.  \nSessions include fun dance energizers to help the youth warm up and an easy-to-follow street self-defense session filled with pair and group activities.  Our sessions are always beginner-friendly and adapted to meet the group’s needs. Participants will be introduced to a variety of drumming styles that are taught through a very friendly\, simple\, and engaging manner.  \nThe Maori Haka -The Breath of Fire; The Haka is about strength\, respect\, honor\, discipline\, focus\, emotions and control. You will learn the practices\, movements\, basic pronunciations of words and translations and their connection to the Haka.
