DESCRIPTION:Inspired by a combination of ballet barre technique\, standing Pilates repertoire\, rehabilitative exercises\, and aerobics\, this low impact workout will get you dancing along to the beat of classic songs. We will use a chair as a “barre” to add stability and support to our workout\, while engaging in movements focused on targeting specific muscle groups\, training our balance\, and improving our posture. The class will slowly build up from warm ups to more complex sequences to a nice cool down\, helping you work not just your physical and cardiovascular endurance\, but also keep your memory sharp. And hey\, you can even play “Name That Tune” or sing along when your body needs a break! \n\n\n\nClasses run every Tuesday at 10am – 11 am in-person and virtually. \n\n\n\nThe program is offered to older adults 55+ and is offered in-person or online via zoom. SUMMARY:The St. Patrick’s Parade with Daily Bread Food Bank
DESCRIPTION:The St. Patrick’s Parade is an amazing day filled with music\, dance\, floats and fun! It is the city’s largest celebration of Irish-Canadian culture with thousands of participants and over 100 entries. Toronto’s diversity is on full display with dozens of groups marching in support of their connections to Ireland and Canada. \nThere are two ways to support Daily Bread Food Bank through the fun of the parade: \n1. Help cover a Toronto Fire Services Pumper with shamrocks! Before the parade\, purchase a personalized shamrock and Toronto Fire will put it on their pumper. Buy a 12″ shamrock for $25\, an 8″ shamrock for $10 or a 4″ shamrock for $5. You can purchase the Shamrocks here: https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/zda4K951IaS580lFL. All proceeds go to Daily Bread.\n2. Bring cash or canned goods to the parade: Members of the Toronto Professional Firefighters’ Association will be collecting donations along the parade route. \nRunning through the streets of downtown Toronto\, the parade will kick off at the corner of St. George and Bloor at noon\, then head east across Bloor and turn south down Yonge Street. The parade makes a final turn onto Queen Street West and finishes outside Nathan Phillips Square.
