SUMMARY:Meditation Class ~ How to Solve our Human Problems
DESCRIPTION:How to Solve our Human Problems ~ Respond to life’s challenges with a positive mind\n\nThursday evenings weekly drop-in meditation classes: 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. ~ $15 / person / class\, at Swansea Town Hall (Evergreen Room): 95 Lavinia Avenue\, Toronto\n\nThese classes offer a rare opportunity to receive commentary to the book\, How to Solve Our Human Problems by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. The teachings in this book are particularly powerful for helping us develop a strong\, stable\, peaceful mind of patient acceptance\, thus overcoming our tendency to become stressed\, anxious\, or angry in difficult situations.\n\nIn this series of classes\, we will learn how to respond to life’s challenges with a positive\, peaceful mind\, using these situations as opportunities for spiritual growth. Through understanding and practising the teachings in this book\, we can gain true inner strength and confidence. This book is beneficial for beginners and long-term practitioners alike. Although taught as a series\, each class is self-contained and can be attended individually. Drop in anytime. Classes include two guided meditations and a practical teaching. Everyone is welcome!\n\nAbout the Teacher: Gen Kelsang Thekchen is a senior Teacher in the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU). He began practising Kadam Dharma in Toronto in 1995 and has been a Kadampa monk and Teacher under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for 24 years. He is well known for his ability to present Buddha’s teachings in a simple\, practical and often humorous way\, making them easy to put into practice in everyday life.\n\nFor more information and to book: https://www.meditateintoronto.org/bloorwest
