DESCRIPTION:This spring\, ECC presents a program that blends choral music with jazz rhythms and pure blues harmonies.  Delight in Will Todd’s jazz Mass in Blue\, composed in 2003 – an acclaimed piece that pulls together the driving energy of jazz and the ethereality of the divine. The choir will be accompanied by a combo of piano\, drums\, bass and saxophone.\nThe evening’s program includes Duke Ellington’s iconic composition Caravan in a hot Latin and jazz inspired arrangement by Paris Rutherford.  Our lead singers will perform Cheek to Cheek\, the classic Irving Berlin jazz standard\, as well as Manning Sherwin’s A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square from 1939.
