DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to our campaign office opening party! \nGord Perks and Debbie King are going to kick-off the campaign with a celebration in our new campaign office. We’ll hear from special guests\, including MPP Bhutila Karpoche\, Councillor Mike Layton\, and more! It will be a great opportunity to connect with neighbours\, meet fellow supporters\, and learn more about how to get involved with the campaign. \nMasks will be required while inside the office. Snacks and refreshments will be served outside. \nGord Perks was first elected to represent Parkdale—High Park in 2006. He has been a champion of ending contracting out of public services\, a living wage in Toronto\, and fair working conditions for Toronto employees. Gord is the current chair of the Toronto-East York Community Council and the Toronto Drug Strategy. He sits as a member of the Board of Health\, Planning and Housing Committee\, and the Library Board. Prior to becoming a Councillor\, Gord worked in the environmental movement from 1987 to 2005 with Pollution Probe\, Greenpeace Canada\, the Better Transportation Coalition\, and the Toronto Environmental Alliance.  \nDebbie King is a community organizer\, communications professional\, and public education champion who is ready to fight for Parkdale—High Park on the Toronto District School Board. As a parent\, she knows how important good schools are\, and how important it is that the TDSB leads on providing world-class education. She is the former co-chair of the Dr. Rita Cox – Kina Minogok PS (formerly Queen Victoria PS) Parent Council\, and is one of the founding members and co-chairs of the Black Student Success Committee. She is running to be the next TDSB Trustee for Ward 7\, Parkdale—High Park.
