SUMMARY:Restoring a Weak Condition Using Essential Oils and Acupoints w/ Denise
DESCRIPTION:The program is offered to older adults 55+ and is offered in-person or online via zoom. Funding for this program provided by the Seniors Community Grant from the Province of Ontario. Workshop is held in person at St. Demetrius Apartment 123 La Rose Avenue and virtually via zoom. \nRestoring a Weak Condition Using Essential Oils and Acupoints w/ Denise\nTuesday June 27 | 2pm \nAt some point we’ve all felt overworked\, stressed or fatigued from a cold or flu. In this class we will review a simple and efficient way to apply essential oils on acupressure points to restore a weak condition. Acupressure and Meridian massage is designed to focus energy within our bodies and identify the pathways that are triggered as a result. Meridians are a part of a universal system of energy that when stroked and triggered correctly are thought to connect to the physiological and emotional aspects of the body. \nStudents will learn how to use Acupressure points to support their health and well-being. With self-acupressure\, you get to know and help yourself at any moment. You only need your hands and a little bit of time.\nBenefits of Acupressure:\n• Reduces and prevents tension and pain\n• Increase circulation and lymph flow\n• Enabling the body to relax deeply\n• Strengthen the body’s resistance\n• Help to manage stress\n• Help to support emotional balance\n• Used as a beauty treatment for glowing skin and relaxed facial muscles\n• A valuable tool to connect through healing touch with oneself and others \nEssential oils Denise will use in this class: Rosemary\, Cypress\, Fir or Black Spruce\, Geranium and Clary Sage \nAbout Denise Ho:\nAfter taking classes for more than 20 years\, Denise began a daily practice when she participated in an Energy Exchange program. In the last 6 years\, she has become truly dedicated to her practice after trying a Mysore class for the first time. She completed her 200-hour Yoga Alliance teacher training at the YogaSpace in 2013. Denise also holds Restorative Yoga\, Yin Yoga\, Adaptive Yoga for Limited Mobility and Reiki Certifications. \nTo register or more information please call 647-725-0844 or ado@stdemetrius.ca | www.stdemetrius.ca\nAbout the Stay Connected Program: https://stdemetrius.ca/community-programs/

SUMMARY:Free Barre Fitness Classes for Older Adults
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by a combination of ballet barre technique\, standing Pilates repertoire\, rehabilitative exercises\, and aerobics\, this low impact workout will get you dancing along to the beat of classic songs.
