SUMMARY:ExperienceTO: Bay Street Historical Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the free-to-attend Bay Street Historical Tour. \nAbout Bay Street: Early Bay St. was a far cry from what we know today\, and not merely because it lacked the stature of buildings it now boasts. It was one of the streets that connected Lot St. (now Queen St.) to the harbour. Today\, Bay Street holds paramount importance in the Canadian financial landscape. It is home to five of Canada’s major banks: the Bank of Montreal\, Scotiabank\, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC)\, Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD Bank)\, and the Royal Bank. The concentration of these financial powerhouses underscores Bay Street’s pivotal role as the epicenter of Canada’s financial activities. \nJoin us for a FREE\, public walking tour that will be a good experience for anyone: whether you’re 8 or 80 years old\, and whether you’re a curious local\, solo traveler\, backpacker\, newcomer\, or part of a group of friends. \nABOUT \nBeginning in front of Toronto Old City Hall (60 Queen St W\, Toronto\, ON M5H 2M3)\, the interactive tour will be hosted by your guide Alex Rășcanu. The tour will focus on Bay Street’s history. The historical tour will conclude at a nearby coffee shop. \nWHEN \nSaturday\, November 14\, 2026 at 10:00am. The tour will last approximately 90 minutes. \nWHERE TO MEET \nThe tour will start in front of Toronto Old City Hall (60 Queen St W\, Toronto\, ON M5H 2M3). \nWHERE IT ENDS \nThis tour will end at a nearby coffee shop\, where you can order coffee/tea/brunch and spend some more time speaking and connecting with fellow historical tour participants. \nFACILITATOR \nAlex Rășcanu is a Torontonian\, a husband\, a father of four\, and an avid student of our city’s history.
